Description

64 Internal Tones, 64 new patches, 64 selected factory patches

This soundset for the above synthesizers was compiled from various banks found on the Internet. I just collected tones, however. On the respective websites they were said to be freeware, so I refuse any liability or responsibility if that's not the case. Please contact me, if there are pirated tones in there. A few of the tones were programmed by myself.

The ZIP file contains two SYX files that are readable with most of the PC and some specialized MAC bankloaders: One with the tones only, called "d110-boi.syx". That one can be used with the D-110 as it doesn't seem to have a performance mode. I don't know very much about the D-5. Probably it lacks several performance patch parameters such as effect settings and therefore causes problems while loading the second file "d10-boi.syx" which contains the mentioned tones along with 64 new patches (mostly DUAL and some SPLITs) and 64 selected Roland factory patches. These patches have been programmed by myself in terms of how good those old boxes can sound if one's really desperate because of a lack of money and a huge studio. ;-)

I tried to give the bank some order, so the patches are mostly pads, followed by leads and a few split sounds. At the end, you'll also find some sequencer type sounds which seem to be nice for arppegios. Not all internal tones have been used for those new patches.

And that's how to load the soundset into your synthesizer:

SYX format: This format is widely spread in the PC world and can be read and sent by a variety of sequencers, bankloaders, dump utilities and editors (e.g. Cakewalk, Cubase, Dumpster, WinSysex, Sound Diver). Load the soundset into the respective program and send it to your synthesizer (please follow the manual of your synth and software, respectively).

MID format (Standard MIDI File): This is a format that can be used by most MIDI sequencers on all platforms and many of the hardware sequencers. The files contain the sysex data and are simply played back with your synthesizer connected to the computer/sequencer (please follow the manual of your synth and software, respectively).

BEWARE! When you send the data to your synthesizer, its RAM banks will be OVERWRITTEN! Please don't forget to backup your RAM sounds!
